Chris and Maylin Hartwick have served in Hong Kong for 27 years. Their current ministry is a church plant among the diverse cultures of Hong Kong, especially focusing on reaching migrant workers and asylum seeker mothers and their children.
Harmony Baptist Church is made up of a majority of foreign contract workers who are in Hong Kong for only a little while. The Hartwick's goal is to prepare them to be able to lead others to the Lord when they return to their home country.
The Hartwicks have led Harmony Baptist Church to see the need to reach labor and sex trafficked victims in Hong Kong. Harmony Baptist church has used its space for women at risk by opening the Lost and Found Refuge ministry. This Refuge is a place for victims of debt bondage, job termination, migrant worker abuse and domestic workers who find themselves pregnant. It is also a place for emergency housing for women escaping sex trafficking. Lost and Found Refuge is a place where women who find themselves at risk can stay and find hope in Jesus Christ.
