South Asia Ministry Center: Gospel Advance in South Asia

The land is purchased. Now the work begins.

In one of the most unreached cities on earth, God's people prayed, gave, and the property is now in hand. A permanent home for gospel ministry in a city of 35 million souls.

The spiritual need here is staggering. Of the 566 people groups that call this city home, 519 remain unreached by the gospel. Less than three percent of the population identifies as Christian. The vast majority practice Hinduism with little to no access to the good news of Jesus Christ.

For years, ABWE partners have been working here — in slums, on university campuses, in neighborhoods where the name of Jesus is rarely spoken. The ministry is real. The fruit is real. Phase 1 secured the property. Phase 2 makes it usable.

From child laborer to church planter

Krishna grew up in a South Asian slum — a child laborer with no way out.*

Through the faithful work of ABWE partners, he received an education and heard the gospel. He surrendered his life to Christ. Today, Krishna is a pastor planting churches and training others to reach the unreached.

His story is one glimpse of what happens when the gospel takes root in a place like this. A permanent, fully operational ministry center means more stories like his — multiplied for generations.

What this ministry center will do

When Phase 2 is complete, the team will be equipped to:

  • Plant 30 new churches by 2030
  • Train indigenous leaders to disciple their communities
  • Expand slum ministry, reaching marginalized families in desperate need
  • Reach as many as 1.4 million university students and equip them to carry the gospel to the nations
  • Offer counseling ministry to university students and women in crisis

The center also opens the door to a women's and children's clinic — potentially functioning as a pregnancy care ministry. In a region where untold numbers of women seek abortions each year and the sanctity of life is routinely disregarded, this clinic would offer compassionate medical care and a clear witness to the value of every human life made in God's image. It would also build the lasting credibility and staying power that gospel ministry in this community requires.

Phase 2: Make the center ready

The property is in hand. What stands between this land and a thriving gospel hub is Phase 2 — the renovations that make the facility fully functional for training, outreach, and community programs. This includes classroom and worship space improvements, security upgrades, and outfitting for ministry use.

The Christmas season is one of the most strategic outreach windows of the year in this city. The team's goal is to have the center operational by then. A delay in funding is a delay in ministry — church planter training postponed, student outreach stalled, a seasonal window missed that will not come back.

Your gift moves this forward. Every dollar raised for Phase 2 brings the center one step closer to opening its doors to the city that needs the gospel.
