Bay Life Baptist Church exist to meet people at their point of spiritual need, move them into a right relationship with God through His Holy Spirit and His Son Jesus Christ, and to mature them in their walk with God.
The church evangelizes the unsaved by proclaiming of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, educates believers in a manner consistent with the requirements of Holy Scripture, protects the church from false teaching according to Titus 3:9, provide foods and household items to those in their community, and engages the youth as the next generation of ambassadors for Christ.
Andrew and Tanesha, as Pastor and wife, also plan on furthering their studies in church ministries and counseling to meet the needs arising in their congregation and the wider Montego Bay area.
About Our Partner: Andrew Pryce
Andrew was born and raised in Kingston Jamaica. His mother was a Christian, but his father was not. Family struggles and conflict led Pastor Andrew down a very difficult path in life. An abusive father drove his mother to become mentally unstable and she eventually passed away at an early age. Life with his father and step-mother were even worse and they wouldn’t send him to school. So by age fifteen, he was very negative and had taken up smoking, drinking and other destructive habits while not being able even to read. He was working in a shop and after being falsely accused was fired. He had hit rock bottom and was about to give up. But the store owner had compassion and hired him back.
Things really started to change when his sister invited him to the church she was attending. One particular Sunday, the pastor was preaching from the Book of Revelation and for the first time Andrew really understood that he was a sinner on his way to hell. He writes; “When he gave the invitation for anyone who wanted to give their life to Christ I started shaking in my seat. I wanted to get up but I was fighting it, eventually I gave in and surrender my life to Christ. I trusted God in the fact that He sent His Son to die on the cross for my sins. By faith, I received His grace and was saved from hell. I started working in the church as an usher, sang on the choir and attending youth meetings.” His desire was to become the youngest deacon at the church, but God had other plans.
One Sunday a guest preacher came to the church and asked Andrew if he was interested in full time ministry. Andrew wrestled with this question, but soon felt God’s call to ministry and enrolled in Fairview Baptist Bible College. During his time at Fairview Baptist Bible College, Andrew was mentored by an older pastor and was asked to be a part of a church plant in Montego Bay. Andrew, newly married to Tanesha, quickly agreed. The church that he helped plant, Bay Life Baptist Church, is now the one he pastors and he has seen God work in incredible ways through his own life and in the life of the church.
