Vida Nueva Ministry Center Peru

A growing church with no place to call home

Every Sunday morning in the Sol de La Molina Valley of Lima, Peru, more than 200 people gather to worship under tents on a rented school property. Vida Nueva Church has no building of its own. Just two weeks ago, the church was granted a two-year extension to continue using its Sunday morning location, though the agreement has not yet been signed. The extension provides welcome breathing room, but the church still needs a permanent home.

Watch: Introducing Vida Nueva | Lima, Peru

God is at work in Sol de La Molina

Since its founding in 2011, Vida Nueva has grown into a congregation of more than 200 — most from the immediate neighborhood, along with families from the nearby community of Manchay. The church describes itself as "a family of families" with a simple aim: more people, more like Jesus.

And God is answering. Thirty-five people have been baptized since 2023. The church has planted two daughter congregations, now merged into one healthy church, and is preparing to plant again in 2027. Young couples are leading small groups and discipling new believers. Some Vida Nueva members, including Joseph and Kimberly Frerichs, also serve with Ambassadors, a children's sports ministry reaching neighborhood families.

But the church's growth has outpaced its borrowed spaces. The congregation meets outdoors in two rented locations and scatters into homes for midweek Bible studies. Counseling, children's outreach, and leadership training all run up against the same wall: there is no permanent place.

A family rebuilt: Wilber and Elizabeth's story

When Wilber and Elizabeth moved to the area in 2023, Elizabeth went looking for a church. Walking through the neighborhood, she met a member of Vida Nueva and was invited to a service. Through the church's ministry, both parents and their four adult children put their faith in Christ. Today Wilber is preparing for pastoral ministry and growing toward future opportunities to serve and lead.

The vision: one property, serving the community every day

Vida Nueva is asking God for a permanent ministry center in Sol de La Molina — a multipurpose property that works for the kingdom all week long, not just on Sundays:

  • A stable home for worship and the church's growing ministries
  • Counseling for marriages, youth, and individuals
  • ESL classes, sports outreach, and space for families to gather
  • Bible training to raise up the church's next leaders and church planters

The goal is bigger than a building. In a city of 12 million people, Vida Nueva's vision is a church planting movement in Lima that sustains a missions sending movement around the world. A permanent home is the foundation that vision is built on.

What your gift does

This first phase — $1 million — purchases land and covers the permitting to make it ministry-ready. Once the land is secured, the church will move its tents onto its own property, stop paying rent, and begin raising funds to build.

Peruvian believers are leading the way: the congregation in Lima has already given more than $110,000 of its own toward this goal, alongside gifts from partnering churches in the US and Canada. Your gift joins what God's people in Peru have already begun.

Give today to help Vida Nueva secure a permanent home — so a church that is reaching its community for Jesus never has to stop.
