How it all started
Their story began when Kristie arrived in Cristi’s home country of Romania for a two-year short-term trip with ABWE. What began as a love for serving together in camp ministry grew over time to a deepening love for the local church in Romania. This change in direction from full-time camp ministry to local church ministry also involved a change in location. In the fall of 2021, Cristian and Kristie, along with their daughters, Adda and Teea, moved from Bucharest, Romania, where Cristi had lived all his life, to Târgu Mureș, Romania to partner with Liberty Baptist Church.
Healthy churches form healthy churches
Along with their ABWE Romania team, Cristi and Kristie’s long-term goals include church planting and missions movements. With the belief that healthy churches form healthy churches, their energy and resources are being invested right now in strengthening and equipping their local church.
What does this look like?
The Boingeanus current responsibilities include:
- Sunday School teacher training (the team has grown from 3 to 25!)
- Youth Group (the group has grown from 7 to 40!)
- Small Groups (they oversee this ministry, which the church started in 2022.)
- Camp Ministry (After 15 years of doing camp with their church, they’re taking more responsibility!)
- Missions Team (Their church is beginning the process of understanding what it means to prepare and send one of their own!)
- Individual Discipleship and leadership training in formal and informal settings
