Director of Prefield Ministries

God has called Ken and Eileen to serve with ABWE by supporting local churches and their sent missionaries. The Lorows have been in vocational, local church ministry for over 30 years. After spending 20 years in youth ministry, God led them to serve with Awana Clubs International as a Regional Director. During these years, the Lorows were able to engage, equip, and lead young people and adults through several international ministry trips giving them a heart for missionaries serving around the world. For almost 5 years the Lords have served as part of the Africa Leadership team, shepherding and discipling those reaching Africa's unreached.

The Ministry

Ken and Eileen lead a team of missionaries ministering to missionaries during their prefield development and ministry. With a 70% attrition rate due to preventable reasons, this team continues to serve missionaries through their first term and furlough. Our goal is to help send and sustain healthy missionaries to serve in cross-cultural ministries. We want to build stronger partnerships between ABWE missionaries, and his or her sending church. By strengthening our preventative member care ministry, we desire to decrease attrition and increase the years of service by our missionaries.

Responsibility

Recruit, equip, and shepherd a team of coaches to effectively meet the needs of a growing ministry team with the goal of resourcing the missionary from application through first furlough.

Collaborate with mobilization, training, and missionary leadership for smooth onboarding and equipping.

Communicate with prefielders by proving accountability, encouragement, guidance, and direction.

Oversee a team of coaches to educate, shepherd, and provide resources for pre-field missionaries, enabling them to get to the field.

Equip sending churches by providing resources and training for persevering in global ministry.  

Represent ABWE by preaching and teaching in local church ministries, conferences, seminars, and workshops.
