From bicycle mechanic to algebra teacher, Bekka loves to learn new skills and to serve others through them. In high school and college God really worked to change the direction of her life from staying in a chemistry lab to working in a classroom with the hope of seeing students' lives transformed. The root of this is that she has experienced people who were committed to seeing her and loving her, allowing her to wrestle through her faith and develop a deeper walk.
Bekka partners with missionary families in Hungary and the greater Europe region by investing in their children academically, spiritually, and relationally. Her desire is that missionary children would be seen, known, loved, and develop a personal relationship with Christ equipping them for the next generation of ministry. One avenue of realizing this is serving as Academic Counselor at ICSB with the hope that opportunities will grow.
It's easy to think that children within the church have a relationship with Christ, but many wrestle with God and are trying to sort out their own faith not just one that's inherited. Add to that the complexities of serving cross-culturally and feeling "other", missionary families traverse unique experiences. Partnering with them to meet practical needs like education or developing relationships with their kids allows for healthier ministries and furtherance of the Gospel throughout the world.
How to get involved:
