Tony has had a passion for missions from the time he was a young adult. He is an emergency medicine physician with a heart for young adults. Keira was slower to hear the call to missions, but has had a deep love for the Japanese and the culture from a young age. She has a background in psychology and a heart for counseling. Together, their family wants to bring salt and light to their community by engaging in authentic hospitality.
Tony will be working to raise up and train college-aged students to build generational leaders for the church in Japan. He has a passion for teaching and discipling, and desires to use his medical background as a way to reach local Japanese. Keira has a heart for reaching people through meaningful relationships. She is continuing in counseling education and plans to use this as a way to minister to both missionary families and the local Japanese.
The Japanese population in Japan is an estimated 99.7% unreached. This means that there are almost 117 million Japanese people who do not know Jesus and have no hope for the future. Suicide is the leading cause of death for Japanese between 16 and 49. The need to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to this spiritually dark place is of critical importance. The church in Japan is also aging; training young leaders is essential to keep the body growing and the gospel moving throughout the nation.
