Derek Young

Derek is a missionary doctor in northern Togo sharing the love of Jesus, through a hospital ministry, and planting His gospel among Muslim peoples, in order to build the church and specifically bring the Fulani--a very unreached, marginalized people group--into the fold of Christ. His vision is to use the Fulani center at the hospital as a hub to train Fulani who will evangelize, disciple, and plant Fulani churches in the surrounding areas and countries, where it is hard to go, owing to unrest and Islamic terrorism.

The platform for his ministry is the Hospital of Hope, where Jesus's love and compassion shine forth every day and the good news of His saving grace is shared. This work is built upon by two other ministries, Hope Radio and the Savanne Bible Institute, engaged in translating the Bible into local languages, feeding the sheep through gospel content on the airwaves, and training local church leaders. Derek evangelizes at the hospital, disciples Fulani men to be church leaders and missionaries, and supports and disciples the Fulani chaplains, who also pastor the church at the Fulani center.

The goal of this work is that when Jesus returns, He will find faith among the Fulani, and they will worship Him in freedom from sin with all the peoples of God.

He earnestly invites you to share in this ministry with him through prayer and financial support.

"You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous  on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God" (2 Corinthians 9:11, NIV).
