Mission:Hike – A Challenge to Reset and Reconnect

Reigniting that Warrior Spirit - we CAN Heal, Reconnect, and Find Purpose:
Many active-duty military personnel and veterans carry unseen wounds—trauma, grief, and the weight of service that often lingers long after deployment ends. The effects of miliary trauma are not limited to the struggles of PTSD; the toll of training and conditioning in the military changes the way you think, feel, and act. These burdens don’t just affect the individual, but ripple through their marriages, families, and communities. Too often, warriors are left feeling isolated, disconnected, and without a clear path toward healing.

Mission:Hike exists to change that. Through physically demanding hiking expeditions—like our multi-day journey into and out of the Grand Canyon—we provide intentional time and space for reflection, healing, and renewal. These are more than hikes. They are intensive experiences designed to promote mental resilience, post-traumatic growth, and spiritual restoration.

By connecting biblical truths with trauma-informed principles, participants begin to understand how God designed the mind and body to heal. We believe that through Scripture, nature, and community, our veterans and active-duty military can rediscover hope, purpose, and strength.

What Your Partnership Makes Possible:

Your support directly fuels this life-changing mission. As a partner with Paul and Katie Moss, you help:

  • Send veterans and their support person (spouse, battle buddy, or close companion) on guided, therapeutic wilderness hikes that combine biblical teaching, physical challenge, and practical mental health tools.
  • Equip local churches and communities with trauma-informed resources focused on understanding military culture, PTSD, and how to provide Christ-centered care.
  • Offer ongoing discipleship and connection to ensure these warriors are supported long after the trail ends.

These aren’t just fun bucket-list trips—they’re transformational journeys where God meets His people in the wilderness.

Join the Mission:

You can play a vital role in helping our nation’s warriors find lasting healing and hope.
  • Become a Financial Partner – Support the cost of trips, gear, travel, and educational resources.
  • Become a Prayer Partner – Commit to praying for veterans and military families on this journey of healing.
  • Become a Church Partner – We are striving to offer follow-up support for participants all over the country, allowing them to remain connected to God's word long after their hike. If your church is willing to be a resource for local veterans, we would love to talk with you about how you can help.
Thank you for standing with us as we walk alongside those who have sacrificed so much.

Romans 5:3-5 …We know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out…
