In a world inundated with communication—messages deeply anchored in humanistic philosophy—the critical need has never been greater for the message of God’s hand at work around the world. We are passionate about telling these stories from a Biblical perspective and equipping God’s servants to use innovative visual communications technologies to impact the world with the Gospel.
VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS
Today we have unparalleled opportunities to reach people using internet-based technologies. ABWE Visual Communications crosses borders to produce stories of God's grace, facilitating church-planting movements in all 70+ countries where ABWE missionaries serve.
In order to help people more clearly see what God is doing, our ministry initiatives are focused on two key areas:
- Mentoring & Mobilizing the next generation of visually creative people to consider missions. Our desire is to invest in others who will pick up the torch, using their communications abilities to do God’s work. Our primary focus has been on leading multimedia storytelling workshops, called Storytellers Abroad
- Coordinating Media Projects around the world — God is changing hearts all over the world. Through our Storytellers Abroad workshops we've seen many go into fulltime ministry as media missionaries, and as volunteers who do missions projects for us. Our long-term goal is to recruit many media missionaries that are working out of strategic media hubs around the world
- Equipping missionaries to be more effective at telling the stories of what God is doing on their fields. How missionaries communicate is closely tied with being able to raise and maintain their support. Therefore, we are heavily involved in training new missionaries as they develop their communications strategies.
We’re focused on these two objectives so that the Great Commission is carried out as people see with their own eyes what God is doing around the world. When people can see what God is doing, their hearts are drawn to be part of the work Christ commanded each Christian to be involved in.
Psalm 40:3 says, “May many SEE what God has done; so they might swear allegiance to him and trust in the Lord”
