History is unfolding before our eyes.
For 93 years, we have existed to serve our missionary family with practical ministry support. Now, in the midst of the novel coronavirus epidemic, that support has never been more critical.
Our team is working around the clock to respond to unprecedented needs—addressing critical health questions, giving spiritual care to missionaries who are enduring isolation and high-levels of stress, providing travel and evacuation logistics, and empowering field leaders to quickly make wise decisions to preserve the longevity of their teams and ministries.
Through the Global Gospel Fund, ABWE has been able to:
- Form a Crisis Management Team (CMT) to evaluate and respond to the specific risks our missionaries face
- Convert core events into a virtual formats so we can continue to mobilize global workers
- Advise our global workforce on practical travel guidelines based on their location, and institute a process to ensure that all remaining plans are thoroughly vetted by leadership
- Mobilize our Member Care team to provide support and housing recommendations for the many college-age missionary kids and third-culture kids left without living arrangements and provide video sessions for missionaries needing spiritual encouragement
But more must be done.
Each gift to the Global Gospel Fund allows ABWE to serve 1,000 missionaries with vital ministry resources, leadership, planning, care, and counseling, through a team of more than 70 experts—who also know them by name, and are praying for them. And in this crisis, these services are more crucial to our teams than ever.
We believe the time is short, eternity matters, and missionaries should be free to do the work that God has called them to do.
Together, we can do greater things for the Great Commission.
