The Baptist Academy of Theology or (BATA Bible Campus) is located in the village of Sodoke Lokoe a suburb of the town of Ho. The BATA currently has one classroom/admin building, two missionary houses, and one dorm. The campus primarily serves the Ewe people group in Ghana's Volta Region. While there are many solid Biblical options for training along the coast in the greater Accra area, there is a distinct lack of local Bible training in the Volta Region and the surrounding areas.
What Do We Do?
The Baptist Academy of Theology in Africa was started with the intent of partnering with Ewe churches to raise up strong, Biblically grounded, mature, Christ-like church members, church leaders, pastors, and teachers. That includes Bible classes, theology classes, and pastoral training. One of the unique ministries of the campus is allowing hands on ministry training for Bible students by hosting Youth Leadership Academy for young adults and teenagers. This ministry focuses on Bible literacy for their older youth teaching them how to study the bible and serve in their local church. BATA also hosts a weekly Bible club for younger youth focusing on verse memorization and bible lessons.
How You Can Help
- The largest need for the BATA campus is fellow laborers. Please pray for the Lord to provide 3 full-time units for the BATA campus ministry.
- There are ongoing monthly financial commitments for the upkeep and maintenance of the facility. Currently, the costs are around $2,000 each month for mowing, utilities, and small building repairs.
- Future plans for the campus include building a property wall, a well, a chapel, a shop, a second dorm, and two new missionary houses. This endeavor will cost in excess of $200,000.
