Both Sergio and Becky are second-generation missionaries! Sergio’s family has ministry roots in Paraguay and Chile. His parents are missionaries in Paraguay. Becky’s parents served in Ecuador and now in Argentina.
They each responded to God’s call to ministry during their teens. They met as students at Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina, the same place where their parents had studied.
They were married in September 2014 and began ministry together at the Jeroviá church in Paraguay. In 2016 they were appointed as missionaries of the Adelphos Mission of Chile.
Their son Ian was born in July 2018.
Their Ministry
Sergio Escobar and his wife Becky help lead the dynamic of ministry of Jeroviá (Hope) Baptist Church in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay. Their city is strategically located at the intersection of Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina. Their church is fully engaged in the Great Commission locally, regionally, and globally.
Sergio provides clear Bible teaching and preaching to the congregation as well as pastoral leadership and counseling. Becky is an active leader in the church’s school and children’s ministries. Both disciple others who are developing into ministry leaders among students and young adults.
They demonstrate their passion for missions in the annual Missionary Training Camp where young people learn about cross-cultural ministry and then apply what they learn in practical ministry opportunities. Sergio and Becky share a vision for church planting, theological education, and healthcare outreach in Paraguay.
