Live Global partner My Father's House Orphanage in Haiti is home to 200 Haitian children. And during the school week, up to 200 more kids will attend primary school there at the orphanage. The first several orphanage kids arrived in 2007. The earthquake in 2010 brought 100 more kids, and since that time the rest have arrived due to a variety of circumstances.
The director of the orphanage, Pastor Pierre Predestin, says that the mission of My Father's House is to "first show the kids the love of God then tell them the love of God." Pastor Predestin and the staff feed the kids, give them a safe place to sleep, and provide for them a primary education, which are all significant care factors in Haiti. The staff is dedicated to sharing the Gospel with the kids and discipling them to become mature followers of Christ.
With so many kids to care for and only 20 paid staff, My Father's House Orphanage has huge operating burdens, especially in a country where most food is imported and expensive. Our desire is to see my Father's House be able to hire more workers and give them a higher salary. Plus, we pray that the orphanage will soon be able to afford more, healthier food for the kids and better housing accommodations.
Meet the Director: Pierre Predestin
Pastor Pierre Predestin is the director of My Father's House Orphanage in Haiti. He also serves as the leader of a pastors' association there. Pastor Predestin's wife, Amy, is the principal of the primary school that is there on the orphanage compound. They both have big hearts for feeding and educating children in their country. They desire for each of these children to have a committed walk with Christ and that they know the love of the Savior.
As they work alongside the orphanage staff to accomplish these goals, they are often spending their time with the kids to personally disciple them in the faith.
