Family Discipleship with Jorge and Naomi (Mexico)

Jorge and Naomi serve in a local church and Christian school. They are especially involved in family discipleship and in the arena where the gospel impacts local culture.

Meet Jorge and Naomi

Jorge heard the gospel at church as a child but got away from church when his parents divorced. University friends shared the truths of the Gospel with him, he came to repentance and faith, and began to enjoy a personal relationship with God. He was soon baptized and continued to grow in his faith. Jorge is a lawyer who has worked in the sector of public security for a municipality in southern Chile. His work and experiences have made him aware of the insecurity and collapse of a society without truly Christian values.

Jorge wants his professional and life experience to be useful in Kingdom work, to see the gospel transform the individual, family, community, and culture. Jorge is now taking this experience and passion to Mexico, along with Naomi and their three kids, to help with a church plant and see the gospel transform their community.

Naomi learned the gospel at an early age, and vividly remembers a particular time at age 5 when her father explained the gospel and prayed with her. Although, like many who grew up in faithful families, it is difficult for her to pinpoint when she was saved, she recognizes that time as the beginning of her understanding of God’s grace in salvation. In 2007, her family moved to Ukraine, her mother’s homeland, as missionaries of ABWE. Her friendship with Jorge began in 2017. They fell in love and were married in October of the same year and began living as a family in Chile. As they begin to share the gospel in their community in Mexico, Naomi plans to emphasize a ministry of Christian education in Puerto Escondido, where the church runs a classical Christian school. She also will continue a ministry of hospitality in her home.
